In 2010 the Colibri Syrah Clone 174 became one of two wines from Arizona that broke the Wine Spectator 90-point barrier for the first time (the other was a Colibri Syrah Clone 99!).  Year-in, year-out, this block produces the most rustic, classically French styled Syrah in our whole portfolio.  In 2021, this was my favorite Syrah in the cellar, and it was again in 2022! Classy, mid-weight and unmistakably old-world in style, this gem has perfect balance with dark-dry fruits, anise, white pepper, ash and hints of parking lot asphalt after a rain.  It is just so…well…SYRAH.  It leaves my mouth watering and my soul craving for more: which is what a great wine should do!
