68% Roussanne, 32% Viognier
It’s always been easy to get excited about La Serrana in the cellar, especially since 2008 when we pushed it in the direction of a classic blend rather than a single varietal Viognier. This La Serrana was crafted primarily from fruit grown at our venerable Colibri Vineyard with the addition of Viognier from the Yavapai College Vineyard found on the east-facing slopes of the Mingus Mountain Range. We are always aiming for La Serrana to be one of our richest, most supple white blends. It has to be full-bodied, have a distinctive ripe character (not citrusy or sharp), and should coat the mouth with wonderfulness. I think we nailed it!
