21 House Mountain Syrah Clone 525 Barrel Ferment
House Mountain Vineyard can be found about one mile upstream from our Estate. A collaboration between Page Springs and the Petznick family of the DA Ranch, this nine-acre site is planted to several varieties, with the biggest block being Syrah clones 471 and 525. This site is higher in elevation than our Estate and sits just above the cold air drainage line in our valley. In addition to this wine being fermented in an upright barrel that had one of the heads taken off, Arizona Oak Staves were inserted into the ferment and the wine was then aged on Arizona Oak for the duration of its cellar life. This process added significant structure and flavor to the wine and it should now reward mid-term cellaring (5-10 years).
