19 Coronado Sangiovese
This was the last vintage (they sold in 2020) the Cook family of Willcox farmed this small vineyard on the extreme east side of Willcox. We have been very blessed to work with their amazing fruit. I will never forget the first time I stepped in this vineyard and looked down at the ground: the flat stones looked exactly like the slate floor in my living room! It has been so exciting working with grapes grown on this unique soil type, one of which I have never seen grapes grown on before. True to Arizona, Coronado Sangiovese offers structured acidity, tart red cherry, cranberry, violets, clay, flint, and a long, juicy finish.
