23 Super Arizona
55% Sangiovese, 29% Barbera, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon
2023 marks the eighth vintage Page Springs Cellars has been able to produce a Tuscan-Bordeaux style blend. We are becoming increasingly excited at the vast quality improvements we are seeing from these Arizona grown varietals. Sangiovese and Cabernet coming from Hassayampa Vineyard near Kirkland Junction and Barbera from Dos Padres, this Ital-dominated blend is classically food friendly (red sauce, red sauce) with fresh acidity, solid red and purple fruit, and a great herbal backdrop. Add in the presence of Arizona Oak ageing for a bit of complexity and richness, you have the perfect Arizona version of a Super Tuscan.
Winemaker Tasting Notes: Classic aromas red and black cherry with hints of cigar box, coffee bean, graphite and cedar shavings. The palate is equally great with tart red berries, tobacco and clove like spices that glide across its acidic core. YUM! A great food wine that will gain complexity if aged in properly kept cellars.
