It’s always been easy to get excited about La Serrana in the cellar, especially since 2008 when we pushed it in the direction of a classic blend rather than a single varietal Viognier. We are always aiming for La Serrana to be one of our richest, most supple white blends. It must be relatively full bodied, have a distinctive ripe character (not citrusy or sharp), and should coat the mouth with wonderfulness. And while 2022 had a cooler ripening season than many previous vintages, La Serrana still stands out in this year’s lineup as our flagship.
