This triumvirate of Syrah clones 99, 174 and 474 (747 collectively…!) represent the advantage of blending in creating a complex, balanced wine. Clone 99 brings power, dark fruits and an herbal quality to the table. Clone 174 lends red fruit and a fresh acidity while 474 ups the red fruit ante while lifting the wine with a perfumy, floral visage.  In the end we are left with a whole that is indisputably greater than its parts.  This wines aromas and flavors are infinitely complex with notes of red and black fruits, spice, dried citrus rind, herbs, rose petals, licorice and much, much more.  If you drink it in the first 5 years after the vintage, give it some time to open up and drink it slowly so it can reveal all of its layered secrets.
