We are fortunate that the Mourvèdre crop from Colibri comes in every year.  Being one of the latest varieties, it flowers two-to-three weeks later than the Grenache and Syrah planted at the site.  In years where frost threatens, this grape presents lower risk because it comes out so late. Despite the massive amounts of rain we received in the 2022 growing season (30”!), our stalwart efforts to open the canopy and stay on top of controlling fungal infections paid off.  The aromas and flavors of this wine represent Mourvèdre at its best and most classic: dark fruits, earthiness, tobacco, and hints of dark green herbs. This wine is screaming to be paired with savory, highly seasoned meats, wild or tame!
