In the world of white grapes, Roussanne is a blessing and a curse.  In the spring it is a godsend because it comes out quite late and usually avoids frost (a characteristic not shared by its close relation – Viognier). And while it skirts the cold, it is also plagued by sensitivities to even the slightest nutrient deficiencies in the soil and is easily stunted.  The stars aligned again this vintage and we had a great harvest in both ripeness and volume. You will also see this excellent wine featured in many of our blends this year.
