Over the past several vintages, we’ve found our single varietals from Cochise County are a great way to showcase some of Arizona’s greatest wines at a very friendly price point. We’ve had great success with both the Cochise County Syrah and Grenache over the past few vintages. This year, we decided to add a Cochise County Mourvedre and a Cochise County Sangiovese to our lineup. Mourvedre typically flowers two-to-three weeks later than the Grenache and Syrah making it one of our latest emerging varieties.  In years where we see frosts late in April or even in early May, we can lose the majority of the other varietals – but never Mourvedre.
