14 Colibri Mourverde MAGNUM
100% Mourvedre
We are fortunate that the Mourvedre crop from Colibri comes in every year. Being the latest varietal, it flowers two-to-three weeks later than the Grenache and Syrah planted at the site. In years where we see frosts late in April or even in early May, we can lose the majority of the other varietals – but not Mourvedre. Additionally, the grapes and the wines we craft from them are of exceptional quality. We always see a great balance between the structure of the wine (acidity, tannin, texture etc.) and the aromatic and flavor characteristics. This wine is loaded with anise, white pepper, fresh tobacco, dried cherry and bergamot. This year we did five picks from early September to mid-October. This bottling is from the 3rd pick.
