21 House Mountain Teroldago
100% Teroldego
House Mountain Vineyard, located about one mile upstream from our Estate, is a collaboration between Page Springs and the Petznick family of DA Ranch. This nine-acre site is planted to several varieties, with Teroldego being one of the first to ripen each year. With origins in northern Italy up near the borders of Switzerland and Austria, this grape is well adapted to our cold winters, wet late-summers and early fall. Interestingly, it shares the parent grape Dureza, with our coveted Syrah. Our cellar team has learned a lot working with Teroldego over the years and has refined our winemaking approach to avoid over-extracting the more than abundant tannins and bitter compounds in the skin. This has yielded a perceptively richer and more supple wine, with this vintage being an excellent example of what this grape has to offer when handled properly.
