45% Mourvèdre, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot

Several years ago, I was tinkering in the cellar late one night and tried blending some Lakeview Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with some Enz Vineyard, Old-Vine Mourvèdre (two stunning CA vineyards we worked with in the early days of PSC). I loved the results, but just couldn’t bring myself to blend away the Enz – which was an Inner Circle wine for us many times. For years, the memory of that wine stayed with me. I finally went for it in 2010 with ASV Mourvèdre and RCV Cabernet Sauvignon (another CA vineyard). We continue the tradition by blending Colibri Mourvèdre and Bonita Springs Cabernet Sauvignon with a slight twist by adding a little Colibri Petit Verdot to keep the historic tobacco notes in the forefront.
