20 Colibri Grenache Hill Block
Colibri Vineyards, located in east-west running Whitetail canyon in the Chiricahua Mountains, is as stunning as its wines are interesting. Remote and beautiful, Colibri sits in a wild and ancient volcanic landscape. The small Hill Block is planted with the Tablas Creek clone from Chateau Beaucastel in the Southern Rhone and generally gives us riper, jammier wines than the East Block’s clone 362 from the Languedoc-Roussillon. This wine is bursting with red strawberry and raspberry fruit and has beautiful acidity to temper the ripeness. And of course…there are hints of Colibri white pepper!
