18 New Mexico Vineyards Ugni Blanc
100% Ugni Blanc
Ugni Blanc, also known as Trebbiano Toscano in Italy, is most commonly made into very simple white wines in central Italy and is usually distilled into brandy to make Cognac and Armagnac in France. Our expression comes from the Mimbres Valley of New Mexico which is remarkably similar in geography, soils, and climate to the Willcox AVA in Arizona. This wine is anything but plain or simple! Lithe waves of persimmon, shortbread, and Meyer lemon intermix on the nose and carry through to the palate, intermixing with white flower blossoms and acacia. This wine blew our minds with its delicacy and prettiness and was a cellar favorite from the start.
