18 Colibri Syrah

100% Syrah

The lean granitic soils of Colibri Vineyards in the Chiricahua Mountains of southeastern Arizona produce some of the most distinctive and interesting Syrahs we make. This blend represents the best of all three Syrah clones on our property. Clone 474 brings a floral, roselike perfume to the blend while Clone 174 contributes an earthy, smoky, meaty character and Clone 99 is all about richness and fruit intensity. Combined, this complex, terroir-driven wine reminds us of the great Rhone communes of St. Joseph and/or Cornas. This blend should reward mid-term cellaring and will pair beautifully with an array of foods including goat, lamb, game birds, and earthy dishes.
