18 Colibri Roussanne - Stainless Steel Ferment
In the world of white grapes, Roussanne is a blessing and a curse. In the spring it is a godsend because it comes out quite late and usually avoids frost (a characteristic not shared by its close relation – Viognier). While Roussanne skirts the cold, it is also plagued by sensitivities to even the slightest nutrient deficiencies in the soil and is easily stunted. Farming efforts have persevered though, and we have yet another amazing offering of this unique grape. Intense Asian pear, baking spices, and light brown sugar characterize this beauty and leave us wondering if this might be the best example of Colibri Roussanne yet?
