This is the final vintage for PSC's Estate Vineyard Syrah! 

100% Syrah

The “Home” Vineyard, previously referred to as our Estate, were the first vines I ever planted commercially in Arizona. Had I known then what I know now, I would not have planted Syrah Clone 383 from the Rhone.  While this selection has and does produce some of the finest wines in France, it is not ideally suited to the late season monsoons we receive in Northern Arizona. Tight clusters and relatively thin skins make it very susceptible to rot.  Additionally, this block has infections of both the roots and the upper vine structure…  After deciding to pull it out and replace it with Montepulciano, lo and behold, we get a dry, hot year and it produces the finest, most complex wine I have ever seen from this block.  Guess I will need to threaten all of our other underperforming blocks as well…
